De Rerum Natura takes its name from the philosophical poem by Lucretius, a Roman thinker who lived in the 1st century BC.
The installation consists of several drawings on the walls, framed by moldings. They depict contemporary human figures in relaxed poses. The figures’ heads are expressed in the plant details contained in the wall moldings themselves.
The artist intervenes in the space by adding the syntax of drawing to the physical and aesthetic nature of the walls, composing a site-specific work that investigates how and what these walls can tell us.
The environment ceases to be circumstantial and becomes a substantial part of identity and, even more so, an agent of transformation that frames and defines that identity.
